The Olympiad “School of Living in the North” is focused on involving students of grades 3-11 in the study and project work on how to improve the life of people in the Northern regions, the development of research skills of students and foreign language competence. The founder of the olympiad is the international organization of the northern regions “The Northern Forum”. The organizer is Yakutsk City National Gymnasium named after A.G. and N.K. Chiryaevs. The peculiarity of the olympiad is that the tasks are meta-subject and are written in English. This year the meta-subject olympiad is dedicated to the urgent problem of climate change in the world. The topic is “Climate change in your region: reasons, consequences, solutions”. The olympiad was held from February 15 to March 26, 2023. The participants represented schools of Yakutsk city, Vilyuisky, Namsky, Tattinsky, Abyisky, Tattinsky, Aldansky uluses. The experts noted the relevance of the topic, students’ research analysis of the situation, the social significance of the works and examples from the students’ own experience.
